How to use the shift schedule maker
- Choose a pattern. DuPont, 2-2-3 (Panama or Pitman) with fixed or rotating days and nights, or 4 on, 4 off.
- Set the date crew A starts the cycle. Use the first day of crew A's pattern on your real rota, so the calendar lines up with your workplace.
- Set the day shift start time. The night shift starts 12 hours later. Most sites use 6 AM or 7 AM.
- Pick a crew to see only your own days, or all four crews to see the whole site.
Move between months with the arrows, print the month, or download 12 months as a CSV file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets. Your settings are remembered in this browser.

Hours and pay
The stats under the calendar show each crew's hours in the month, the average per week and the number of shifts per year. US overtime is counted per workweek, so weeks with four 12-hour shifts include 8 overtime hours. If night or weekend shifts pay extra, the shift differential calculator works out the weekly pay, and the time clock records the hours you actually work.
